I layered in tons of highlights to get that maximum brightness while still keeping the tone natural and soft — no yellow, no brass, just a clean, seamless blonde that works from root to ends. By stacking the highlights close together and alternating placements, I was able to push the blonde as far as possible without compromising the health of the hair or creating harsh lines. Not to mention the grow out on this placement is beautiful, so believe it or not this high maintenance look is lower maintenance.
The extensions were the finishing touch, adding the length and fullness to really complete the look. We custom-colored the extensions to blend perfectly with her natural hair and the bright dimensional blonde, so everything moves and feels like one. Personally, I love infusing an essence of the alternative into my looks. For this transformation, I reached for my go-to R+Co Bleu products. Here’s how I created this head-turning style:
1️⃣ Prepped the hair with Retroactive Dry Shampoo for a voluminous tease.
2️⃣ Added heat protection and hold with Hypersonic.
3️⃣ Moisturized the ends with Super Style Crème for that perfect shine.
Once I shaped and pinned the curls to cool, I finished up with Cult Classic Hairspray and a spritz of Reflective, Shine Hairspray for that extra gleam. 🌟💫

My Entry to #agarrenchallenge The Art of Transformation Challenge.
The 1950s was a decade defined by elegance, femininity, and a touch of glamour. Think classic pin-up girls, retro silhouettes, and hairstyles that exuded confidence and charm. Popular looks included soft waves, perfectly coiffed curls, and dramatic bangs, all embodying that timeless Old Hollywood romance. But who says we can’t modernize these iconic styles?
Here’s how I brought this 50’s inspired model to life with a contemporary twist:
1. **Coloring**: I started by coloring her hair to a beautiful warm blonde, giving it that sun-kissed glow reminiscent of the era using R+Color.
2. **Extensions**: Next, I installed extensions to add both length and fullness, allowing for those luscious, voluminous styles that are a signature of the 50s.
3. **Styling Prep**: To prep the hair, I applied Smooth and Seal Blow Dry Mist and Optical Illusion Oil for added moisture and shine, ensuring her locks were healthy and vibrant.
4. **Adding Hold**: I used Hypersonic to provide a slight hold while also protecting the hair from heat damage during styling.
5. **Setting Curls**: After curling her hair, I utilized Featherlight Hairspray for a flexible, workable hold that keeps the curls intact without the stiffness.
6. **Teasing for Volume**: I teased and shaped the bangs to create added volume, capturing that romantic Old Hollywood vibe.
7. **Texture**: To enhance the texture within the waves, I finished off with Ultra Dry Texture spray, giving the hair a modern, effortless feel.
This look is not only a nod to the past but also a celebration of how we can infuse modern techniques with vintage styles. ✨💖

What a journey this color correction was! 💇♀️💖 Huge shoutout to my amazing partner beautyybyjewell for tackling this project with me. Together, we transformed this client’s calico hair into an even, stunning blonde from top to bottom. Talk about a 7-hour labor of love! ⏳💪
Here’s how we achieved this beautiful look: We started with R+co ammonia-free lightener, Snowfall. It lifts slowly at first, allowing us to carefully spot adjust with a platinum card throughout her entire head. As we moved around, we increased the developer strength to maintain an even lift. After spot correcting, we removed the foils and re-applied fresh lightener to each strand, avoiding the roots. Once the ends were lifted perfectly, we tackled the roots last, as they lift faster!
Finally, we double-toned to achieve this flawless result—first to cancel out the yellow (she was looking a bit fluorescent! 😅) and then to perfect the overall tone.
Color corrections require patience and precision—no cutting corners here! So proud of Jewell for diving in with me. We absolutely love how this turned out! 💖💫
