What you get, what we ask

What you get

  • The cut, color, or style your stylist is photographing, performed by a senior Vamp stylist
  • R+Co products throughout the service
  • Professional styling + makeup on Day 2
  • Portfolio-grade photos you can share

What we ask

  • Two studio days — roughly 3–5 hours each
  • A signed photo release granting Vamp Salon usage rights for marketing
  • A current headshot with your application

What this isn’t: no cash compensation. The free service is the trade — there’s no payment beyond it. You can withdraw your photos at any time (see below).

How the two-day shoot works

Step 1

Day 1 — Before & service

Arrive at the studio. Before photos in your current hair, then your stylist performs the cut, color, or style. About 3–4 hours.

Step 2

Day 2 — Style & shoot

Styling and makeup, then the photoshoot — a combination of studio portrait and studio lifestyle setups. About 4–5 hours.

Step 3

After

Your photos delivered to you, in our portfolio, and across Vamp’s owned channels.

The team in the room

James Creston

Co-Owner & Lead Photographer

James shoots every model session at Vamp. As a co-owner, he’s there from setup through final selection — and the person in the room making sure the day actually feels like a good time.

Erin Bulger

Videographer & Editor

Erin shoots video alongside the stills and edits both the video and the photos for the salon. On shoot days, she’s the one keeping the flow easy and catching the in-between moments.

Questions about being a hair model

Do I need modeling experience?

No — we coach you through every pose. Most of our models had never been in front of a studio camera before.

What if I hate how the service turns out?

Every model is photographed by a senior stylist. The free service is yours either way. The photo release doesn’t require us to publish anything you hate — we choose the photos together.

Can I bring a friend?

Day 2: yes, in the studio waiting area — the shoot is fun and we don’t mind company. Day 1: no — the service itself requires focus.

How soon will I hear back after applying?

Usually within three business days. If we’re slammed we’ll still write back to tell you when to expect a real answer.

What if my schedule changes after I’m picked?

Reach out — we work around real life. The two days don’t need to be the same week.

How long do you keep my photos?

Indefinitely unless you ask us to take them down. The takedown remedy is in the section above — no time limit, no reason needed.

Do you photograph people under 18?

Not for this program — you must be 18 or older to apply.

Change your mind? Here’s how.

Submit the form at vampsalon.com/model-call/withdraw/ (preferred) or email models@vampsalon.com from any address. Tell us your name and the rough date of your shoot.

No reason needed, no questions asked. We’ll consider the removal of your photos from vampsalon.com, our Instagram, Facebook, Google Business, paid ad rotations, and any printed material still in production and respond within 14 days. We’ll confirm by email what was removed and what couldn’t be. Printed material that has been distributed is beyond our ability to remove from circulation.

Full plain-language terms at vampsalon.com/legal/photo-release/.
